As long as our daily activity and goals at work are viewed as separate from, or even opposed to our spirituality, we will be frustrated because our work will be separated from what we value and desire. Work is a marathon that requires spirit as well as sweat. This course examines the spirituality of work in the context of competition, compensation, leadership, and social norms. This is not a course on any secular religion, it is a course on working from the heart.

The main purpose of work is to acquire compensation and profit, but work can also create culture, nurture people, and enrich your soul. Spiritual people pray through the witness of their lives and through the work that they do.

The main purpose of leadership is to inspire others to greatness and to govern with principles and values. A thin line separates a successful department from a department destined for failure, effective supervisors from the ineffective ones. Below the line lies blaming, promoting fear, and an attitude of elitism and misuse of power. Above the line lies a sense of ownnership by the department, solutions to problems, determined action and a spirituality of purpose. This course covers topics on how to effectivly use power, competition, and coaching techniques.
